Around 300 cultural workers have published an open letter entitled “Climate protection is also cultural protection”. They are calling for people to vote “yes” in the referendum on the climate protection law this weekend.
One of the initiators is the Theater Morgenstern in the town hall of Friedenau. The group has been producing theater for a young audience since 1994, with a focus on socially relevant and philosophical topics, among other things. “The world we live in is the starting point, raw material and environment of our work; and this world is in great danger,” the theater makers write in the appeal.
“We hereby demand, as citizens and as artists, to turn the lever for rapid climate neutrality. Now! Because soon it will be too late for everything. But we still have the chance to initiate a positive development: fair, liveable, seriously sustainable.” Among the signatories are actresses, moderators, filmmakers and musicians. (tsp)
