Kang the Conqueror doesn’t have the same trajectory as Thanos

When we look at the end of the Infinity Saga, when Thanos is the big bad, we didn’t really know where the first three phases were going to take us. At least some fans like me who don’t know comics.

Now that Kevin Feige [ndlr, dirigeant de Marvel Studios] announced the Kang Dynasty, it feels like Kang needs to be ubiquitous. So obviously he probably won’t.but how to find the balance between setting up a fight against Kang and the fact that he is not present in all the projects before?

It’s a good question and with Thanos, we announced it as we went along. The presence of the Infinity Gems has been felt in different movies, right? We can say that there is a course of action which led to Avengers: Endgameeven in productions where Thanos was not present.

We are careful not to repeat ourselves so from the start, the notion of Kang is that of an actor who plays different versions of the same character. We’ve already had a taste of these releases, you know how different they are. We are in uncharted territory. So every time you see a Kang played by the brilliant Jonathan Majors, it will be different.

It helps us prepare for the future as you understand what this character represents. I don’t think he will be in all the movies. I go back to what Kevin Feige said at Comic-Con, that the first cycle is the Infinity Saga. Today we are in the Multiverse Saga and that involves all sorts of things.
