(ANSA) – NAPLES, 04 NOV – Creations by Cesare Attolini, Domenico Caraceni, Ugo Cilento, Kiton, Maurizio Marinella, Mariano Rubinacci are exhibited in the new museum area dedicated by the Mondragone Foundation to men’s tailoring which was visited by the president of the regional council of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca, who spoke of tailoring as “Italian excellence”. Welcomed by the extraordinary commissioner of the Maria D’Elia foundation, they discussed the future of the sector, together with Cristina Cennamo, the vice president of Sistema Moda Italia Carlo Palmieri and the entrepreneurs Ugo Cilento, Maurizio Marinella and Mariano Rubinacci. And it was Maurizio Marinella himself who launched a cry of alarm: few young people now approach these activities.
Among the clothes on display there is also one from 1943 that belonged to the lawyer Gianni Agnelli, in front of which De Luca spent a long time dwelt. A museum that, underlined the extraordinary commissioner of the Foundation, Maria D’Elia, increasingly wants to open up to the city. During his speech, President De Luca recalled Ciro Paone, the Neapolitan designer who founded the Kiton brand, who recently passed away.
“I happened to meet him in his factory, he was a good figure – he added – who had the courage to invest in Milan, with a choice that proved to be a winner, also for the vision”. (HANDLE).
