The “BZ am Sonntag” will appear as a printed newspaper for the last time on Sunday, July 30th. As has been heard from editorial circles, Axel Springer Verlag gives a lack of economic prospects as the reason for the step.
Falling edition
According to IVW circulation statistics, “BZ am Sonntag” achieved a paid circulation of 50,925 copies in the first quarter of 2023, of which 12,240 were subscriptions and 13,321 were retail. In the first quarter of 2022, 59,401 copies were sold.
The printed “BZ” will continue to appear from Monday to Saturday, with the scope of the Saturday edition being expanded. The newspaper’s homepage, which sees itself as “Berlin’s Voice”, should continue to provide information around the clock and with a 24-hour live ticker.
