The Orchestra of Aeschylus in national premiere in Lenz di Parma

(ANSA) – PARMA, 11 NOV – The stage project by Lenz Fondazione di Parma dedicated to Aeschylus’s Orestea, the result of three creations made between 2018 and 2020, will be presented as a national premiere in a scenic unicum at Lenz Teatro from 13 to November 20 as part of the twenty-fifth edition of the Festival Natura Dèi Teatri.

On the stage six actresses from different generations and origins and the reflections of curators, scholars, activists, philosophers: “A very clear political and cultural message – explains Maria Federica Maestri, director and author – that in the year of Parma, the Italian Capital of Culture highlight the expressive power and aesthetic density of women in the contemporary art scene “. “The tragedies that make up the Orestea (Agamemnon, Le Coefeore, Le Eumenidi) represent a single family history divided into three episodes, whose roots are rooted in the mythical tradition of ancient Greece – adds Francesco Pititto, who oversaw dramaturgy and rewriting of the trilogy – The murder of Agamemnon and his lover-slave Cassandra by his wife Clytemnestra, the revenge of his son Orestes who kills his mother with the complicity of his sister Electra, the persecution of the matricide by the Erinyes and his final acquittal by the Areopagus Tribunal “.

Lenz’s Orestea will be interpreted by Valentina Barbarini, Monica Barone, Lara Bonvini, Sandra Soncini, Carlotta Spaggiari and Barbara Voghera, with the sounds designed by Lillevan, one of the most significant artists on the international electronic music scene who has been collaborating with the ‘ensemble.
