Netflix offers a bunch of productions, some of which are a hit with viewers. We immediately think of series like Stranger Things, The Witcher, The Money Heist but above all Squid Game. The latter quickly established itself as the most viewed of the service from its launch. A success that the streaming giant was not really expecting: word of mouth seems to have worked since marketing was minimal. Very quickly, Hwang Dong-hyuk, creator of the series, announced the arrival of a second season. Additional episodes that the man did not expect to shoot, caught off guard by the triumph of his series.

Squid Game will tell about the social problems of our world
It’s hard to know what the second season of Squid Game. After all, the premiere has come to an end and it’s hard to go back to it. Hwang Dong-hyuk could follow new entrants as fans want to learn more about the deadly game’s origins. Many also wish the return of Seong Gi-hun, winner in the final of the series broadcast on Netflix.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hwang Dong-hyuk explains that in the alternate ending, Seong Gi-hun gets on the plane. And the man is also teasing his ideas for season 2 of Squid Game.
We came to the conclusion that the question we could not answer this question if Seong Gi-hun got on the plane: why is the world what it is? Seeing how people are fascinated and interested in Squid Game, I really want to keep creating something about modern issues. Social problems (…) one way at a time entertaining, intriguing, satirical and refreshing.
– Hwang Dong-hyuk
