Teatro dei Piccoli reopens with Strega Bistrega in Naples

(ANSA) – NAPLES, NOV 17 – The Teatro dei Piccoli of the Mostra d’Oltremare reopens on Saturday 20 November in Naples. “A House of Arts dedicated to the new generations – the organizers underline – which, in its protected indoor and outdoor spaces, resumes its programming of theater, music and dance dedicated to children and their families with renewed energy”. A program that has never stopped even in the past months, creating opportunities for entertainment, workshops and moments of aggregation and socialization for children.

Now a full-scale activity is starting for the start of a season, the seventh, open to families and school groups which, until May, will host about 40 titles.

Conceived and produced by the joint action of three structures, Casa del Contemporaneo / Le Nuvole, I Teatrini and Progetto Sonora, in agreement with the Municipality and the direction of the Mostra d’Oltremare, it will offer the young public over 100 days of entertainment, including proposals from professional theater companies from all over Italy and productions produced by the three resident organizing companies. In addition, there are a series of special projects and training and laboratory activities for parents, teachers and students. The inaugural show is entrusted to the historic company Ruotalibera Teatro di Roma which presents in Naples, on Saturday 20 (in reruns also on Sunday and Monday) the rearrangement of the award-winning “Strega Bistrega”. Freely based on Italo Calvino’s Fiabe Italiane, it is written and performed by Fabio Traversa, Neapolitan actor, author and director (born in 1952), directed several times in the cinema, among others, by Nanni Moretti, Carlo Verdone, Roberto Faenza. “The Teatro dei Piccoli – says Remo Minopoli, president of the Mostra d’Oltremare – is one of the few cases in Italy of a structure designed, as early as 1939, to offer initiatives dedicated exclusively to the new generations and we are really happy that our proposal for theater and music for girls and boys will resume on a day dedicated by the UN to the recognition and protection of the rights of children and adolescents “.
