Cinema: ‘Attolini Award’, five first edition winners

(ANSA) – BARI, 17 NOV – The Apulian regional media library will welcome the Jury of the “Vito Attolini International Film Critics Award” which, on Thursday 16 December 2021 at 5 pm, will award the winners and the winner of the first edition. Chiara Bardella (2 August 1998) from Emilia Romagna wins the short essay section with the elaborate “The documentary by Cecilia Mangini and the collaboration with Pier Paolo Pasolini” choosing the theme Documentaries. Sara Perniola (20 September 1992) from Puglia wins the short essay section with the elaborate “Vito Attolini and Pier Paolo Pasolini: a desire for the past” choosing the theme History in Cinema. Luigi Palma (15 July 1996) from Puglia wins the section with the paper “Emerging Visions: The land of enough by the D’Innocenzo brothers” choosing the theme Emerging Visions: Cinema of the 2000s.

The Award stems from the desire of Irene Gianeselli (of the National Union of Italian Film Critics-Sncci, journalist for Polytropon Magazine and president of the Felici Molto association) to keep alive the memory of “a master of film criticism such as Vito Attolini” (Bari, 20 December 1931 – 11 December 2017), film historian, dean of the SNCCI, journalist and lecturer at the “Aldo Moro” University of Bari. This will be the unique event for the 2021 edition of the Conversazioni-La literature is on stage ‘in which the Award was born in collaboration and with the support of the Apulia Film Commission, the Puglia Region and the Apulian Regional Mediateca and with the patronage of the National Union of Italian Film Critics.

“Vito Attolini, more than a film critic, was an exegete of cinema – remembers Simonetta Dellomonaco, president of the Apulia film commission -.
