Today, November 30, exactly 70 years ago, Nazariy Yaremchuk was born – one of the founders of the Ukrainian stage

Nazariy Yaremchuk considered the first megastar of Ukraine – at a time when there was not even a hint of the emergence of domestic show business. In addition, Nazariy was unofficially awarded the title of the country’s first “sex symbol”.
Also the singer had the honor be the first to sing the works of Vladimir Ivasyuk (“Chervona Ruta”, “Vodograi” and others) and starred in the 1971 film “Chervona Ruta”.
His image has always been associated with a real patriot, for whom the most important were family and homeland. Let us note that whole legends circulated about the kindness, justice, high moral qualities of the singer, and his singing talent forever brought him into the ranks of the first in the national stage.
Unfortunately, the artist lived only 43 years – in 1995 he died of stomach cancer. In total, Yaremchuk has recorded over 150 compositions. The most famous of them are “Guy, green guy”, “Motherland”, “I go to the distant mountains”, “Hey vi, kozachenki” and others.
