Asvoff n.13, the fashion film festival chooses Rome

(ANSA) – ROME, DECEMBER 07 – In the perspective of a continuous research dedicated to the relationship between fashion, cinema and costume, with a focus on the immaterial image and audiovisual languages, Romaison, curated by Clara Tosi Pamphili, presents in Rome , after Paris, the 13th edition of Asvoff, A Shaded View on Fashion Film Festival, with the collaboration of Alessio de Navasques. The event in collaboration with Casa del Cinema is promoted by Roma Capitale with the organization of Zètema Progetto Cultura. The three-day screenings and meetings, with free admission, from 10 to 12 December, marks the beginning of the collaboration between Romaison and Casa del Cinema which will continue from 26 December 2021 to 9 January 2022, with a film review dedicated to cinema and fashion. the festival, conceived and directed by Diane Pernet, international fashion icon, journalist and digital pioneer, Asvoff was born in 2008. For three days the Deluxe and Volonté theaters of the Casa del Cinema will host the selection of over eighty fashion films in competition, reviews , feature films, documentaries and meetings. Highlights include: the screening of the film Saint-Narcisse by Bruce LaBruce, the iconic artist, photographer and writer considered one of the founders of the queercore movement and president of this year’s Asvoff Jury; the Italian premiere of the documentary Heavenly Bodies dedicated to the figure of the legendary photographer and artist Steven Arnold; the Digital Fashion reviews: The Fabricant, Black Spectrum and Fashion Moves dedicated to tracing the future of fashion in the virtual scenario of the Metaverse and to investigate the themes of identity and inclusion. Among the events on Sunday 10 December, Valentino Des Ateliers Lives of Tailors and Painters, dedicated to the short film of the same name, winner in the Documentaries category by Asvoff 13. Gianluigi Ricuperati, writer, essayist and curator of the project for the Valentino maison and the author of the documentary Maurizio Cilli, introduced by Alessio de Navasques, will talk about Pierpaolo Piccioli’s collaboration with a group of contemporary artists for the Haute Couture collection and its second narration through video.
