(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, DEC 10 – ENZO BASSO, “I GUASTATORI DELLE PIPE”, (CLIPPING EDIZIONI, pp. 240 – 12 euro). The journalistic investigations of a young free lance are the pretext to tell the territory, describe Sicily and Sardinia. The journey of Anna Dalù, the reporter-detective from Roccavaldina born from the pen of the Sicilian journalist Enzo Basso, protagonist of a series of 32 books by Clipping editions of which the first volume “I spoilers of pipe “.

Sardinia plays a fundamental role in the life of the protagonist: her parents and grandparents were Sardinians from Lollove, in the Nuorese area, and from Rebeccu, a hamlet of Sassari. After the loss of her mother, her grandmother takes care of little Anna Dalù. “That strong woman moves to Sicily and raises her granddaughter – Enzo Basso tells ANSA – transmitting Sardinian education and culture to her: cannonau and pattada have always been in her vocabulary. In Anna Dalù the bond with Sardinia is very close, one of the books is dedicated to a trip to the island “. The detective journalist, accompanied by the ‘supporting actors’ of her adventures, Giovanni Agati, private investigator, and the photographer Pulce, will visit both Rebeccu and Lollove, where she will discover the story of her parents and obtain the answers to the questions that have marked her life. In the first chapter of her adventures, “The spoilers of the pipes”, the chronicler investigates a mysterious theft of pipes that took place in Villafranca Tirrena. The yellow winds with a cadenced rhythm from Messina to Calabria, continues in America to land in Chicago, which will become the starting point of the disappeared pipes towards the first smoke museum in Sicily.

But it is only the beginning of a journey. In the 32 novels Anna Dalù, Giovanni Agati and Pulce will come across daring and original stories that will lead them to investigate cases related to the Mannara dog, to the honey from sulla or to ancient vases containing medicinal herbs. “I wanted to tell the story of this young reporter who takes her first steps in the world of journalism between passion and difficulty – the author continues – It is a deliberately handcrafted publication with attention to every detail. The philosophy of the house Clipping publishing is to promote the publishing of Sicily and Sardinia. We have also decided to start a sort of experimentation in distribution that is directly linked to the content of the book.

‘The spoilers of the pipes’, for example, will soon be distributed in some tobacconists, while the novel which talks about the pottery that contained medicinal herbs, will go to the pharmacy. It is a sort of provocation – explains Basso – and at the same time the search for alternative physical channels to distribute the books “. (ANSA).
