(ANSA) – BOLOGNA, 13 DEC – Yanxi Zhou for the opera ‘Soffione’ and Yuan Zhang for the opera ‘Weed, crowds and cities’ are the winners of the last two editions of’ Plutôt la vie … plutôt la ville . Roberto Daolio Prize for public art ‘: they will be awarded on Wednesday 15 December at 4 pm in the Aula Magna of the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and on that occasion the new call for the eighth edition will be presented, open to the participation of female students and students of the Academy regularly enrolled or graduated in the last three years.

The event will see the participation of Jorge Orta, an Argentine artist who with his wife Lucy founded the Studio Lucy + Jorge Orta in Paris in 1992, now in Les Moulins, with a large project for a collective space for artistic research in the former valley of the French paper mill. In his lecture on ‘Art and collaborative practices’ he will tell the artistic experience of the duo who, using different media including drawing, sculpture and performance, raises questions about environmental sustainability, the sense of community, fundamental human rights and is based on the relational and participatory dimension.

The Roberto Daolio Award was established in 2014, one year after the death of the art critic and curator to whom it is dedicated, on the initiative of the family, who found the support of the Little Constellation network of the Republic of San Marino and the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna. The award aims to be “a stimulus to develop contemporary artistic research and practice in the public context and to explore the potential of public art in its broader social, political, aesthetic and theoretical action”.
