In Fano the first battery museum, from the Beatles to the Poohs

(ANSA) – FANO, 14 DEC – One of the most curious and original destinations for these holidays is the Battery Museum in Fano (Pesaro Urbino), unique in Italy, which certainly does not fail to make happy musicians and passionate lovers of musical genres . On display there are in fact 25 drums from Italy and abroad with which the most famous historical ensembles of the second half of the twentieth century played, from the Beatles to Deep Purple, from the Who to the Rolling Stones, from Led Zeppelin to Genesis.

Many are “sisters” of those used by rock bands, in the model, finish and year of production, while others are even original, played by the most celebrated drummers, such as the “Ludwig” drums used by Ian Paice until 1969 and signed, or that “Premier” model played by Keith Moon of the Who who wanted it to measure with double bass and Rogers attacks more resistant to his powerful percussion, up to the snare drums of Tullio De Piscopo.

“I started in 1999 – says Daniele Carboni, who set up the recently inaugurated museum with the” Luciano Bonfitto “association – because as a musician I liked to find the drums of historical bands around the world”. There are, for example, the identical “Premier” model played by Ringo Starr of the Beatles at the beginning and then the smaller one of the “Ludwig” chosen instead of the German “Trixson” as so Ringo could be seen like the his three companions, or the “Gretsch” that played Charlie Watts, or that of John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, but also Italian models used by the Poohs, Pfm, Queen. In short, a dip in the history of music.

It is open every Sunday from 4 to 8 pm, every day by reservation (tel. 335.1927112 or info@museodellATTERia.it), admission 5 euros with guided tour.
