Weekend at the cinema, Diabolik and House of Gucci arrive

ROME – All the entertainment cinema of the pre-Christmas season is concentrated on this weekend and starting today is the Marvel cinecomics SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME directed by Jon Watts in which for the first time Peter Parker (Tom Holland ) become aware of his role as a superhero also because his identity has become public knowledge. This is the most awaited film by young audiences, so much so that in many cinemas it is already sold out. But it will have fierce competition from the films in theaters from tomorrow and it is therefore right to remember the others who have been playing early since last Monday.

We talk about OTHER FATHERS directed by Mario Sesti with Paolo Briguglia and Chiara Francini, parents painfully separated; the beautiful documentary CATERINA CASELLI – UNA VITA A HUNDRED LIVES directed by Renato De Maria and previewed at the last Rome Film Festival; de I FRATELLI DE FILIPPO directed and starring a charismatic Sergio Rubini who revives the birth of the great season of Eduardo De Filippo and his brothers (Peppino and Titina); and finally the irresistible and irreverent Black Comedy NIMBY by the Finnish Teemu Nikki, the great success of Noir in Festival, an unmissable portrait of the racisms and intolerances of the apparently most inclusive society in the world, the Scandinavian one. The protagonists are two girls in love but threatened by prejudices for their reality as a couple. A monument to tolerance in the form of a black and politically incorrect comedy. From tomorrow the time comes for the Manetti Brothers with their masked hero.

– DIABOLIK by Marco and Antonio Manetti with Luca Marinelli, Miriam Leone, Valerio Mastandrea. The first steps in the career of the hero of crime, Diabolik and his fateful encounter with the most beautiful woman in the world, Eva Kant, and her relentless rival, Inspector Ginko. An adventure in the perfect style of the iconic Giussani Sisters comics that evokes an imaginary Italy of the 60s and gives space to all its protagonists with perfect adherence to the original model and its noir spirit. It is no coincidence that the two directors wanted it to be the long-awaited closing film of Noir in festival.

– HOUSE OF GUCCI by Ridley Scott with Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons. On March 27, 1995, the good Milanese society was shaken to its foundations by the news that an unknown killer had killed Maurizio Gucci, a wealthy scion of one of the most famous fashion houses. Even more sensational was the arrest of his ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani, accused and condemned of having paid assassins to take revenge for her husband’s infidelity. Immediately renamed by the newspapers “the black widow”, Patrizia Reggiani spent more than 20 years in prison. The film traces its indefinable personality but focuses above all on the golden world of the Milanese jet set of the 90s with some imaginative coloring.

– ONE SECOND by Zhang Yi-Mou with Zhang Yi, Liu Haocun, Fan Wei, Ailei Yu, Shaobo Zhang. In the Chinese province of Guansu, in the midst of the cultural revolution (in the mid-1960s), a wandering woman finds warmth in her bond with a fugitive from the Red Guard labor camps. The man loves cinema and obsessively searches for the single frame of an old film that preserves the image of his daughter, lost forever.
Hindered by censorship and retouched several times by the author to have the coveted permission to be released, the film by the most famous Chinese author finally arrives in the West.

– WHO HAS FRAMED SANTA CLAUS by and with Alessandro Siani and with Christian De Sica, Angela Finocchiaro and Diletta Leotta. Smiling comedy for the holidays in which the rogue Siani is hired by the most powerful home delivery agency in the world to sabotage the gifts of Santa Claus (De Sica), always incomparable in his task as a giver of gifts. With the help of an enterprising urchin, the crafty saboteur steals Santa’s good faith but the Befana will put things right and “convert” the make-up artist with a heart of gold. For young and old who do not trust Amazon and the like …
