(ANSA) – PRATO, 15 DEC – Reproduced an ancient Renaissance dress of haute couture, in white damask, which belonged to the Duchess Isabella D’Aragona (1470-1524). The creation stems from the collaboration between Manifatture Digitali Cinema (Fondazione Sistema Toscana), Confartigianato Imprese Prato and the Abap Superintendency for the Municipality of Naples, and was presented today in Prato. The idea, explains a note, was born during the Master La Stoffa dei Sogni, held at Manifatture Digitali Cinema in Prato (Mdc) in 2020, focused on the Renaissance dress. On that occasion, the historian of fabric and costume, Roberta Orsi Landini, proposed to the officials of the superintendencies to remake, during the master in Prato, the dress of the Duchess Isabella of Aragon, who died in 1524 and buried in the preserved arches. in the sacristy of the church of S. Domenico Maggiore in Naples. The research and reproduction of the historic dress thus began at the master. Thessy Schoenholzer Nichols, expert in antique tailoring, made the pattern, the participants in the master obtained the design to be reproduced and made the cut, while Gabriella Fabozzi, expert seamstress of Mdc, after the interruption due to the pandemic, led to the tailoring ended in September 2021. The textile company F.lli Poli of Prato, identified by Confartigianato Imprese Prato, solved the problems that the reproduction of the dress presented in terms of fabric and visual rendering. The result is a white damask dress that is currently exhibited next to the original one, in the church of San Domenico in Naples, while a second reproduction is exhibited in the Prato headquarters of Manifatture Digitali Cinema.
