Admiring the sunrise in the mountains and at the sea or in the midst of nature has a positive effect on our physical and mental health, making a simple walk in the early morning a unique adventure. There are three essential conditions: good weather, warm clothes and the effort to get up when it is still dark outside.

With the Move to the Top cable car you can climb the Marmolada, among the Venetian Dolomites, to admire the Queen’s dawn, at 3,265 meters above sea level, and be the first to descend on the fresh snow slope. In 12 minutes the cable car takes you from Malga Ciapèla to Punta Rocca, at high altitude, where the panoramic terrace offers the opportunity to enjoy the first light of dawn in peace and safety and a breathtaking spectacle of the sky that colors pink, red, orange and purple the sheer face of the Marmolada, the glacier and Lake Fedaia and the peaks of the surrounding mountains. Thanks to the opening of the lifts a few hours earlier, usually around 6 in the morning, it is possible to climb to the top and enjoy the sunrise in tranquility from a privileged point of view. The “Ski sunrise” package also includes rich breakfasts in the chalets and mountain huts that adhere to the offer. On 5 January you can see the sunrise in San Martino di Castrozza, in the Alpe Tognola ski area: from the panoramic terrace of the Tognola refuge you can see the sun rising from the Pale di San Martino and illuminating the immaculate peaks of the Lagorai chain. After a hearty breakfast you can launch on the Tognola Uno slope, among the top 10 in the Dolomites, in the company of the ski instructors. It is necessary to bring with you water or a hot drink, a towel to lie on the ground, food for the picnic, a torch and an object to give to another walker as a happy new year. It is a meeting place for hiking in Salento, a few kilometers from Otranto, exactly where the waters of the Ionian and Adriatic seas meet. Even on New Year’s Eve we find ourselves admiring the dawn, the first in our country, equipped with a blanket to lie on the ground and enjoy the show.
Painters, poets and writers let themselves be seduced by the colors of the dawn that can be observed from the shores of Lake Pusiano, in the Parco della Valle del Lambro, a protected natural area about thirty kilometers from Como: why not indulge yourself in the beauty of its sunrise after celebrating New Year’s Eve?
