Cepell, 2022 year of translations and of the school

(ANSA) – TRIESTE, 28 DEC – Contributions to publishing houses to finance translations of Italian books destined for the foreign market, and, on the contrary, to encourage the translation of foreign books into Italian; summer residence / school for foreign translators, new initiatives related to Libriamoci nella scuola, books and digital: the basket of ideas and proposals of Cepell, the Center for books and reading of the Ministry of Culture for 2022 is swollen.
First of all, as the director of the Center, Angelo Piero Cappello, announces with satisfaction, “the database that records and classifies the Agreements for the reading of the Municipalities in Italy, a decisive work tool, will soon be active”. The activation of the database, which puts law 15/2020 into effect, will constitute, in fact, “from the beginning of 2022, a place of coordination and monitoring of the ‘Readings Agreements’ by the municipalities which, in the database, will be able to find each other and find other realities, identify quality models and verify the result of their work “. Another result was achieved in the promotion of Italian books abroad: “The call for applications to support book translations has been closed: 48 applications are admissible for a total of 214 requests for grants; the 48 will presumably be largely part, accept “, explains Cappello. “We are also radically renewing one of Cepell’s two initiatives in favor of schools, ‘Libriamoci’, which will have a new look and structure”.
