Written by Elena Hell and Robert Krause, the book tells a fascinating story in a modern key and suitable for all ages: that of Elisabeth, known as Sissi, Duchess of Bavaria, who as a young girl is forced to accompany her sister Elena to Bad Ischl, destined to marry Franz Joseph and become the Empress of Austria. But in the meeting with the future brother-in-law, the spark strikes: the two fall madly in love and in the end Francesco Giuseppe decides to marry Sissi instead of his sister. Life at the court of Vienna, however, amidst intrigues, conspiracies and plots, will turn out to be anything but a fairytale and Sissi will have to grow up quickly, becoming a confident woman, also capable of difficult choices. Based on the book is the TV series, produced by Storyhouse Pictures for the German TV RTL in collaboration with Beta Film, which deals with world distribution, and starring Dominique Devenport and Jannik Schümann: 6 episodes of one hour each, which will be broadcast simultaneously in Italy, in Germany on RTL and in Austria on ORF.
