(ANSA) – FLORENCE, 02 JAN – Maestro Zubin Mehta, at the helm of the Choir and Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, will conduct the last concert of the ‘Beethoven Cycle’ on 4 January, which is also the first symphonic appointment of 2022 of the theater. Symphony n. 8 in F major op. 93 and the Symphony n. 9 in D minor op. 125 for solos, choir and orchestra. Soloists at his side, for the Ninth, the ensemble of voices already appreciated during the concert on 31 December 2021: the soprano Mandy Fredrich, the mezzo-soprano Marie-Claude Chappuis, the tenor AJ Glueckert and the bass Franz-Josef Selig. The choir master is Lorenzo Fratini. ‘Ciclo Beethoven’ is the concert series of the Teatro del Maggio Fiorentino which began on 25 September 2021 with the complete performance of the nine symphonies of the composer from Bonn.
