But at the age of 15, meningitis put an end to her career and even threatened her life. The girl spent four agonizing months in the hospital, and returned home in a wheelchair with amputated phalanges of her arms and legs. The scars on her body will never let her forget about that terrible period.

When I was in the hospital, I thought that I could never forget this pain. Instead, I forgot about her. Therefore, today I am not afraid of anything. Any challenge seems possible to me. What can happen?
Today, 25-year-old Veronica tries herself in canoeing and snowboarding, and at the Paralympics in Tokyo she took a bronze medal in a triathlon.
