France snatched a draw in the League of Nations against Austria on Friday. Kylian Mbappé scored in the 83rd minute, leveling the score after Andreas Weimann’s goal in the 37th minute. France are last in their group at the dawn of the match against Croatia on Monday 13 June.

The France team was again held in check in the League of Nations, conceding the draw in Austria (1-1), Friday in Vienna (group 1). The Blues, defending champions but who have still not won a single match in this competition (2 draws, 1 loss), conceded a goal from Andreas Weimann (37th) before equalizing at the very end of the game by Kylian Mbappé (83rd).

A not flamboyant attack

This season, France have conceded at least one goal in eight of their twelve games. And if she has sometimes managed to reverse the trend, as during the Final 4 of the League of Nations in October against Belgium (3-2) and Spain (2-1), her attack is not as flamboyant in the month of June.

“When there are goals conceded, there are things that we must do better in the alignment and the management of depth. We did not do it well, it needs to be worked on”, warned Deschamps already before the match against Croatia.

The French world champions are last in their group before welcoming Croatia on Monday at the Stade de France.
