With the gradual entry into force of the health pass in recent days, many pharmacies are seeing an increase in the number of people who come for an antigen test. While waiting to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, or because they refuse to be, they indeed need a negative result of less than 48 hours to continue to frequent certain places. This is particularly the case in Strasbourg, where the shed in front of the pharmacy near the station is always full.
The number of tests multiplied by two
All day long, people flock to do an antigen test, as Lisa, the pharmacist explains. “Since Wednesday and the entry into force of the health pass, we have roughly doubled the number of tests we did per day. We are currently on a hundred tests and that occupies us well,” she admits. And the reasons differ for the patients. Maxence, for example, who is not yet vaccinated, needs a health pass to access his gym. “I have my first dose today and my second dose on August 16. And after that, I will still have to wait 7 days to have the sanitary pass. So for the moment, it’s antigenic test for me”, he explains.
For Akilas on the contrary, out of the question to be vaccinated. He says he is ready to redo as many tests as necessary. “I prefer to do that, it allows me to preserve my body which does not need a vaccine,” he says. “And I can do this for life, regardless of the price even if I have to pay 1,000 euros per test,” he said. And this, even if it also means that he will have to come back to the pharmacy every time he wants to go to a restaurant or to the movies.
