Rare diseases: the Telethon marathon is back on Rai networks

(ANSA) – ROME, DECEMBER 09 – The Telethon Foundation Marathon returns to Rai networks from 12 to 19 December: it will be a week of solidarity with many events to support scientific research on rare genetic diseases. And the Chocolate Hearts will return to over 3,000 squares throughout Italy, distributed on 12, 18 and 19 December by the volunteers of the Telethon Foundation, Uildm, Avis, Anffas, Unpli, Catholic Action and other associations. “Research donates. Donate for research” is the invitation that Telethon launches to continue participating in the great chain of solidarity and supporting research. Thanks to this, in fact, it is possible to give hope, therapies and the future to all people with a rare genetic disease and to their families.

Those who want to support Telethon will be able to donate to receive the Chocolate Heart, available in the dark and milk version (gluten-free), and in the milk with biscuit grains, as a thank you for a minimum donation of 12 euros. Sunday 12 December, in prime time on Rai 1, the “Festa di Natale” evening will be broadcast entirely dedicated to supporting scientific research on rare genetic diseases of the Telethon Foundation. The marathon will continue with an ideal relay of the most important conductors on the three Rai networks, on the Radio Rai networks and on the RaiPlay platform.

The 2020 edition of the historic marathon on Rai networks allowed to raise 46 million and 218,821 euros for the financing of scientific research on rare genetic diseases. The solidarity number 45510 will be active until 31 December 2021 to donate 2 euros via SMS.
