The number of people hospitalized in France sick with Covid-19 continued to increase on Monday, crossing the 10,000 mark, with 10,151 people affected, according to data from the health authorities. This figure had not been reached since June 22. A significant number of these hospitalizations are concentrated in the Bouches-du-Rhône, in the Paris region, in Guadeloupe, in Martinique or even in Reunion. In the past 24 hours, 950 new people have been hospitalized.
Critical care on the rise
The number of patients in critical care also increased, to 1,908 against 1,852 on Sunday, with 178 new admissions. This indicator, closely scrutinized by the health authorities who want to avoid saturation of hospitals as in the West Indies, had fallen below the threshold of 1,000 patients on July 7.
