The Sandbox and World of Women Team Up to Bring Women to the Metaverse and NFTs

This Tuesday (8), the game of metaverse The Sandbox (SAND) announced its partnership with World of Women, profile photo project with non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The agreement provides for the provision of $25 million from The Sandbox in funds to the WoW Foundation.

According to Decrypt, the foundation is a World of Women initiative to bring more women into the world of NFTs and the metaverse through education and mentoring.

The game will distribute the funds over five years, with the aim of helping the WoW Foundation achieve its goals, some of which include The Sandbox.

Some of the foundation’s initiatives will be the creation of a museum in the game The Sandbox, in addition to a WoW University, which will offer educational courses on Web 3.0.

In addition, a WoW Academy for artists and projects is planned, which will offer financial resources, mentoring and networking to selected participants.

“We are very excited and grateful to be working with an excellent team that shares our principles on how important it is to invest in and convene female voices.”

World of Women’s NFT Project

According to Decrypt, World of Women is currently the most successful women-focused NFT project, with nearly $157 million in volume in secondary markets.

World of Women even caught the attention of famous actresses such as Reese Witherspoon and Eva Longoria. Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine production studio even announced plans to bring World of Women into TV show and film projects.

The Sandbox and the Metaverse

The Sandbox allows players to purchase and customize virtual lands in the game, allowing for the creation of interactive environments and experiences.

According to Decrypt, the metaverse-based game has partnered with over 200 brands and celebrities, including Adidas, Snoop Dogg, and Atari.

In January of this year, The Sandbox spent 200 ethers (ETH), about $707,000 at the time, to buy NFT World of Women #6025 from social media influencer Logan Paul.
