US sells 203,000 t of 2021/22 soybean meal this week, says USDA

Exporters of U.S sold 203 thousand tons of bran Soy of the 2021/22 crop in the week ended on April 21, informed this Thursday, 28, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), in weekly report.

The volume represents a significant increase compared to the previous week and the average of the previous four weeks.

The main buyers were Colombia (49.4 thousand tons), Philippines (45.5 thousand tons), Mexico (36,600 t), Japan (26,400 t) and undisclosed destinations (20,000 t), which offset the cancellations made by Costa Rica (7,300 t), Guatemala (3 thousand tons), Israel (3 thousand tons) and Belgium (2.3 thousand t).

The sale of the crop was within the forecast of analysts consulted by Dow Jones Newswires, that expected volume between 100 thousand and 250 thousand tons in the week.

Shipments abroad in the period totaled 251.8 thousand tons, representing a reduction of 16% compared to the previous week, but an increase of 11% in the average of the previous four weeks.

The main destinations were Colombia (65.6 thousand t), Mexico (46.7 thousand t), Israel (27 thousand t), Morocco (26.4 thousand t) and Canada (21.1 thousand t).
