THE Copel (CPLE3) informed that its wholly-owned subsidiary Copel Distribuição was registered the day before Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) as a publicly-held company in category B, according to a statement on Friday.
The registration does not aim to issue shares, but makes it possible to diversify funding sources and optimize the debt profile.
“It is a measure that further reinforces the company’s transparency, in line with the best governance practices,” said Copel.
