Bill Gates: Find out which companies the billionaire founder of Microsoft (MSFT) invests in

bill Gates has already held the top of the list of the richest people in the world. Currently, with a fortune of US$ 114 billion, the founder of Microsoft (MSFT) is in fourth place, according to Bloomberg. Gates’ good money is the result of his work and also of his investments in big companies.

According to the Investopedia website, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation portfolio has the Berkshire Hathaway as its main holding company, with 34 million shares of the company, with a market value of around US$ 10 billion.

Second is investment in Waste Management, a provider of waste management and environmental services. The Gates Foundation owns more than 18.6 million shares of the company, with a market value of US$ 3.1 billion.

There is still room in the Gates portfolio for assets from Canadian National Railway Companya provider of integrated transportation services, including rail, truck, freight forwarding and warehousing, holding more than 13.07 million company shares with a market value of US$1.6 billion.

The foundation also invests in Caterpillar Inc, a manufacturer of heavy equipment used for mining, agriculture and energy. The Gates own about 9.68 million shares of Caterpillar, with a market value of more than $2 billion.

To complete the equity portfolio, Gates also has shares of Grupo Televisa SABholding more than 7.04 million shares and a market cap of nearly US$65.95 million.

Plus, of course, Gates still owns about 1.22% of Microsoft stock.
