Aliansce Sonae registers a rise in revenues, but net profit drops by 60%

THE Aliansce Sonae recorded a rise in revenues in the second quarter of this year, but saw net income reduce significantly. Revenues totaled R$ 258 million between April and June, an increase of 19% over the same period last year, but net income fell by 60%, reaching R$ 23.5 million.

Ebitda was R$ 176.2 million in the second quarter, up 19.6%. The adjusted Ebitda margin was 71.9%, up 97 basis points over the same period in 2021.

The company’s total sales were 49.6% higher in this second semester compared to the same period of the previous year, totaling R$ 4.02 billion. Sales totaled BRL 2.85 billion, up 46% in one year and 21% over the second quarter of 2019, pre-pandemic.

Adjusted operating cash flow, an indicator that takes into account the net income attributed to the controllers, depreciation and amortization, was R$ 107.7 million, up 24.7% in one year. Guanabara considers that the indicator is the best to evaluate the operational performance of malls, since it includes depreciation effects.

Load factor grew 135 basis points in a year to 96.7%, with 173 new contracts signed over the second quarter. The director of investor relations points out that sales were even stronger than in the fourth quarter, with emphasis on food courts and clothing.
