THE Petrobras (PETR4) reported this Wednesday (17) that the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) denied the request made by the National Association of Petroleum Workers Minority Shareholders of Petrobras (Anapetro), to suspend the company’s extraordinary general meeting (AGE).

The AGE is still scheduled for this Friday, and will elect new members of the oil company’s board of directors.

According to a statement, the CVM understood Anapetro’s request as untimely and that it had vices and formal deficiencies.

“The Board, by majority, decided not to know the request presented, and, unanimously, decided not to suspend or interrupt the course of the period for convening the Petrobras EGM”.

Petrobras added that the CVM’s analysis did not cover possible ineligibility of candidates for the board.
