The last week of September brings the domestic calendar to the fore. Also because the month ends on Friday and the weekend will be marked by Sunday of election in Brazil.

In this final stretch for the polls, the attention of the financial market are divided with the economic calendar. The focus will be on Tuesday, when the preview of the inflation to the consumer (IPCA-15) and the minutes of the meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (Copom).

The Central Bank document should corroborate the end of the cycle of high Selicbut without opening the door for a start of cuts in the interest rate. Even because the IPCA-15 should already begin to show the first signs of the end of the deflation.

GDP and PCE tests Fed

Already abroad, the relief point is reserved for the end of the week. On Thursday (29), the third and final estimate of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the United States.

The numbers can reinforce the fear of recession of the American economy, even more in the midst of interest rate increases promoted by the Federal Reserve. In fact, on Friday the Fed’s preferred price index, the so-called PCE, will be released, which should test the aggressive (“hawkish”) stance in the conduct of monetary policy.
