In advance, soybean planting in Mato Grosso reaches 6.29% of the projected area, says Imea

the planting of Soy in Mato Grossothe main Brazilian producer of the oilseed, reached 6.29% of the area projected for the State in the 2022/23 crop until this Friday, a weekly increase of 4.5 percentage points, informed the Instituto Mato Grosso of Agricultural Economics (Imea).

Planting work is ahead of the five-year historical average for the period, of 1.8% of the area, according to data from the institute linked to producers.

The percentage of acreage is also slightly higher than last year, which marked 6.16% on Oct 1, 2021.

For the current harvest, however, the projection is for an increase in the planted area in the State of 2.9% compared to the last cycle, to 11.8 million hectares.

Production, according to Imea’s estimate released earlier this month, is a record 41.5 million tonnes.
