Goal: Facebook owner approves personal security for the outgoing executive

THE Meta Platforms announced on Friday that its board of directors has approved the granting of personal security services to former vice president of operations Sheryl Sandberg, citing “continuing threats to her safety.”

The company said it expects to continue paying for security services at Sandberg’s homes and during personal travel between October and late June next year.

Close to Meta’s CEO, Mark ZuckerbergSandberg announced in June that he was leaving the company after a 14-year stint in which he led the company’s often-criticized advertising-based business model.

Sandberg ceases to be an employee of Meta this Friday, but will remain on the board of directors, informed the company.
