arm of Hugo Boss focusing on the young public, Hugo said that he will take the clothing to the metaversethrough a partnership with Imaginary Ones, a non-fungible token project (NFTs).

The company will launch a “360-degree holistic experience in the metaverse,” Hugo announced Tuesday, as part of the “global renewal” of the brand.

The collection of NFTs, which will be released in early November, will consist of 1,001 animations in three dimensions and will be called “Embrace Your Emotions”.

“The purpose of the collection is to encourage everyone to connect with their emotions and share the message that all feelings – positive or negative – are valid and should be embraced, as the freedom to feel and express oneself can significantly improve health and wellbeing. general well-being,” explained Imaginary Ones in a press release.

Proceeds from sales will be donated to the Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) charity.

Hugo Boss in the metaverse

While it’s not immediately clear what a “360-degree” experience in the metaverse actually involves, the young arm of Hugo Boss said a 500-seat shortlist will be allocated to consumers who purchase a limited-edition “phygital” T-shirt.

Each t-shirt will have a QR Code, which will take users to a lens on Snapchat to create a special augmented reality effect.

NFT holders of Hugo Boss will have access to the Imaginary Ones staking ecosystem, which grants the holder a separate set of Hugo X IO content, experiences and merchandising – including digital apparel items.

Fashion turns to Web 3.0

Hugo Boss is the latest example of fashion brands trying to carve out space in the metaverse. Several brands have already tried – and with varying degrees of success – to capitalize on the Web 3.0.

Earlier this year, Gucci joined its first decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) with SuperRare.

Burberry launched a Web 3.0 game, while Louis Vuitton filed for four trademarks on June 23 for NFTs, virtual goods and digital collectibles.

According to LVMH Web 3.0 leader Nelly Mensah, the projects that will survive in the long run are those that find an intersection between who is the company’s customer and who is the current Web 3.0 consumer. For Hugo Bossthis intersection appears to be in the younger market.
