The board of directors of AES Brazil 🇧🇷AESB3) approved the payment of BRL 500 million in dividendsshows the minutes of the meeting sent to the market this Friday (25).
According to the document, the amount per share will be R$0.25055967314 and the payment will take place on December 30, 2022.
The shares will be traded “ex dividends” as of December 1, 2022.
AES Brasil: 100% of profit from dividends
In an interview with Money Timesthe director of treasury and IR at AES, José Ricardo Elbel Simão, said that it is possible to reconcile dividends with the company’s expansion on new fronts.
In the third quarter, AES bought all the shares representing the share capital of the special purpose companies (SPEs) that make up the Wind Complex Ventos do Araripe, Caetés and Cassino.
Currently, the earnings policy provides for the payment of 50% to 100% of profit.
“As a matter of practice, we’ve been paying 100% for over a decade. We continue in this practice, reconciling dividends with investments”, she explains.
