Transmissão Paulista (TRPL4) starts commercial operation of energy storage project in batteries

THE São Paulo Transmission 🇧🇷TRPL4) announced this Monday (28) the start of commercial operation of the first energy storage in batteries on a large scale in the Brazilian transmission system.

The project was carried out on the south coast of the State of São Paulo. 180 battery racks were installed lithium with 30 megawatts of power and a capacity of 60 megawatt hours (MWh).

According to the company, the project also includes inverters, transformers, energy management software and
automation, protection and control.

The operation is a project to reinforce concession contract 059, by obtaining the Term of Partial Release (TLP) from the National Electric System Operator (ONS), which is entitled to receive 90% of the Allowed Annual Revenue (RAP) of R $27 million for provisional commercial operation with non-impeding pending issues.

The company, after resolving the disputes, will obtain the Definitive Release Term (TLD) for the entire enterprise. The Aneel investment in the project is R$ 146 million.
