the owner of twitter🇧🇷 Elon Musksaid this Saturday (03) that he found it “possible” that the social media company’s team gave preference to leftist candidates during the brazilian elections this year, without providing evidence.

Musk completed the purchase of Twitter on October 27, just days before the second round of the presidential election in Brazil, when the candidate Jair Bolsonaro (PL) was defeated by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

“I saw a lot of worrying tweets about the recent elections in Brazil,” Musk wrote on Twitter when asked by a user about elections possibly “manipulated” by the company’s previous management.

“If these tweets are accurate, it’s possible that people on Twitter favored leftist candidates,” added the billionaire.

Earlier this year, Bolsonaro received Musk at a meeting in São Paulo, when he called the acquisition of Twitter by the American billionaire “a breath of hope” and dubbed him a “legend of freedom”.

Both Lula and Bolsonaro used Twitter extensively during their campaigns. Some Bolsonaro allies – including the most voted candidate for the Chamber of Deputies, Nikolas Ferreira – had their accounts suspended by court order after the second round for questioning the election result.
