Discussion board site Reddit wants to hire people for something that could become a new non-fungible token platform (NFTs, the acronym in English) and digital goods.

According to a post by a site back-end engineer this week:

We are looking for strong engineers and leaders to help us develop the team, strategize and build the future. If you ask us, the NFT movement has just begun, so come and join our team to get started.

Some of the responsibilities include designing, developing and shipping back-end services for the creation, purchase, sale and use of digital assets based on NFTs, contributing to the overall strategy of the token platform.

It is not yet clear if or when Reddit’s NFT platform will be released. However, the company reported, in a job description, that “Fans of today’s top designers and brands are switching to purchasing digital goods directly from them – to support them, gain exclusive access and feel a greater connection with them. Over time, we believe this will only grow, and NFTs will play a central role in how fans support their favorite communities and creators.”

Reddit’s first insertion into NFTs came in June this year, when the company auctioned off three “CryptoSnoos” – NFTs from the site’s mascot, Snoo. CryptoSnoo holders can use it as a profile picture and make their network comments literally shine through.

In July, Reddit announced that it is scaling up its Community Points project, built on tokens based on Ethereum, through the second-tier solution Arbitrum.
