Iberia flights halted due to technology issue

Dozens of international and domestic flights operated by the Spanish airline Iberia were interrupted this Saturday (28) by a problem in the company’s reservation and boarding system, informed the airline.
Five flights, with destinations to London, LisbonVigo, barcelona and Jerez de la Frontera, a city located in the south of Spainhave been cancelled, an Iberia spokeswoman said.
“At 11:30 am [horário local]delays reached one hour on flights in Spain and Europe. It affected dozens [de serviços]”, said the spokeswoman, adding that “it is centered on Madrid, but also affects other airports. We have volunteers working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.”
“Due to the incident in our systems, booking and boarding services were interrupted at several airports,” wrote Iberia on Twitter.
The company did not provide further details on the nature of the issue or when it is likely to be resolved.
