O Will and world powers aiming to reactivate the 2015 nuclear deal are trying to set a date for the resumption of talks in Vienna as soon as possible, said a spokesman for the European Union this Friday.

After this week’s conversations in Brussels, the main Iranian negotiator said negotiations in the Austrian capital will resume by the end of November.

Peter Stano, an EU spokesman, said the Oct. 27 meeting in Brussels was “helpful” and that it “helped to define a way forward for resuming negotiations in Vienna.”

“We are working together with other partners, including Iran and other signatories (of the nuclear deal with Iran), to set a concrete date as soon as possible for us to meet again in Vienna,” Stano said at a briefing.

In April, Iran and six powers began debating ways to save the 2015 nuclear pact that the then US president three years ago Donald Trump abandoned.

As a result, Trump reactivated sanctions that have harmed the Iranian economy by limiting its oil exports.

But talks have been raging since the June election of hardline Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who is believed to take a tougher stance if talks resume in Vienna.
