The actions of the great banks Brazilians operate on a high this Monday (20). Some assets are positive highlights of the Ibovespa in the trading session of the day.

The movement takes place in the wake of the news of the purchase of the Credit Suisse by the rival UBSfor US$ 3.2 billion, an amount three times the initial offer.

Around 11:30 am, the actions of the Santander (SANB11) led the increases in the sector, rising 1.25%. At the same time, the Ibovespa operated at a fall of 0.4%.

The papers of Itau (ITUB4) rose 1.21%, followed by the assets of the Bradesco (BBDC4), up 0.77%. The actions of Bank of Brazil (BBAS3) advanced by 0.21% in the trading session.

The domestic stock exchange also echoes the economists heard by the central bankwhich lowered the forecast for the Extended National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) at the end of this year, according to the Focus Bulletin.

Investors await the next Copom meeting, the result of which will be released on Wednesday (22).

Meanwhile, shares of Brazilian banks listed abroad were underperforming. The ADRs of Inter (INBR32) retreated 2.71%, while the assets of the Nubank (NUBR33) lost 2.72% and the XP (XPBR31) had fallen by 1.99%.

Abroad, investors’ doubts are whether the Fed will hold its hand in monetary tightening or whether it can even keep interest rates the way they are.
