TSE asks for access to the expertise of the “draft of the coup” in action against Bolsonaro

The General Inspector of Electoral justice, Minister Benedito Gonçalves, asked the Federal Supreme Court (STF) access to the expertise carried out in the document known as the “draft of the coup” for inclusion in one of the actions in progress in the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) that may lead to the ineligibility of the former president Jair Bolsonaro.

The text of the document, which was found in a search and seizure operation by the Federal Police at the home of Anderson Torres, Bolsonaro’s former Minister of Justice, was intended to establish conditions for reversing the election victory of the now president. Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva by instituting a State of Defense at the headquarters of the TSE, indicating that there could be a coup d’état.

In the decision, the inspector general requests “as long as it is compatible with the preservation of the investigations in the second process, information on the result of the expert examinations carried out in the ‘draft of the State of Defense decree’ and sending a copy of the terms of the testimonies given by Anderson Gustavo Torres”.

Among the information requested by Gonçalves to the minister of the STF Alexandre de Moraesthere are also copies of the terms of Torres’ testimonies in the context of action on the anti-democratic acts of January 8 that resulted in the depredation of the buildings of the Planalto Palace, the National Congress and the STF.

Torres already gave testimony to the TSE last Thursday in the action reported by Gonçalves.
