Galyn Susman, producer of “Lightyear”, also left. Susman had been at Pixar since the release of the first “Toy Story” in 1995.

The cuts are part of a plan announced by Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger to eliminate 7,000 jobs and cut $5.5 billion in costs.
Pixar’s current employee base is around 1,200 people. The layoffs were considered relevant as the studio generates franchises and characters that bring revenue to Disney.
Disney bought Pixar in 2006 to revitalize its failing animation unit.
