Boa Safra triples profit in the 3rd quarter, to BRL 88 million

A good harvest (SOJA3) had 227.7% jump in net profit for the third quarter of 2021 compared to the same period last year, according to figures released by the company late on Tuesday (16). The amount went from R$26.8 million to R$88 million.

In the last 12 months, profit totaled R$135.6 million.

Impacted by seasonality, net revenue hit a record of BRL 586.6 million between July and September of the year, a 92% increase compared to a year earlier. The quarter, which marked the beginning of the rainy and planting season, had higher sales volume and strong operating cash generation.

The quarterly EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) was R$89.2 million, double the amount reported a year earlier, of R$43.6 million. The margin rose to 15.22%.

At the end of the third quarter, Boa Safra reached a historic sale of 75.6 thousand big bags (equivalent to 5 million and seeds) of soy for the year, an increase of 21.7% compared to the same quarter last year.
