The social network Twitter named Parag Agrawal as the company’s CEO after Jack Dorsey left office, according to a statement issued on Monday (29). Agrawal was once Twitter’s chief technology officer and worked for the company for ten years.
“I want to thank the Committee for its confidence in my leadership and Jack for his continued guidance, support and partnership,” said Agrawal. “I’m looking forward to working on everything we’ve accomplished under Jack’s leadership, and I’m incredibly energized by the opportunities we’ll have in the future.”
According to the statement, Dorsey will remain a member of the Committee until the end of his term in 2022. Twitter has named Bret Taylor as chairman of the Committee, replacing Patrick Pichette.
“I decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move forward without its founders. I have deep confidence in Parag as CEO of Twitter. His work over the past ten years has been transformative. I am deeply grateful for your skill, heart and soul. It’s his turn to lead,” Dorsey said.
