A Usiminas (USIM5) reported that, since Friday (14), the production of iron ore was resumed “gradually” in Minas Gerais. As you know, in recent weeks, the state was punished with heavy rains that caused flooding in several cities.
The activities of Mineração Usiminas (Musa) were paralyzed since January 10, when storms hit the Itatiaiuçu region, where they are concentrated. On the same occasion, the company informed that it had activated level 1 of the Emergency Action Plan for Mining Dams (PAEBM) for its Central Dam, which has been deactivated since 2014.
In this weekend’s relevant fact, Usiminas also communicates that the Central Dam has returned to emergency level zero, that is, it is no longer at risk.
