Crypto Storm #115: What can you expect from crypto regulation this year?

Check out this week’s edition of the Crypto Storm podcast

In this edition of the Crypto Storm podcast (also available on video ????), Lucca Benedetti, Valter Alencar and Narriman Silva talk about subjects that will remain relevant during 2022: Federal Reserve (United States Central Bank), regulation of the crypto market, in addition to its performance and prospects.

The presenters begin by talking about the performance of the bitcoin (BTC) at the beginning of the week, when its price was close to US$ 43 thousand. Valter comments that this performance could probably be the result of new announcements from “Big Techs” in relation to crypto.

Meta, former Facebook, would be developing its platform of non-fungible tokens (NFTs), while Google may allow cryptocurrency purchases through prepaid cards.

Companies native to the crypto sector, such as the exchange Coinbase, also announced news. The crypto exchange entered into a partnership with Mastercard to enable the purchase of NFTs from its future platform through the payment giant’s cards.

Then, the presenters move on to the topic linked to the American economic scenario and, therefore, to the Federal Reserve and its performance.

Valter explains that, with the increase in inflation and interest rates in the United States, the tendency of investors is to leave high risk assets aside, and adhere to lower risk assets. With that, the cryptocurrencies are affected, at least in the short term.

When recalling the transition from analog to digital, which took place over the last few decades, Lucca makes the comparison with the crypto world, commenting that it seems to be in its initial phase, similar to the time when there was dial-up internet.

As for the current stage of the crypto world, Narriman points out that some people are still afraid to enter this market, although it is already possible to see the potential that it presents, through some networks, such as Ethereum, which offers various financial services in a transparent way. .
