The fifth president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, said that today’s meeting of deputies with the security forces in the Verkhovna Rada was disrupted by head of state Volodymyr Zelensky. He said this at a briefing broadcast by Ukraine 24 TV channel.

He noted that his political force initiated a meeting of deputies with the security forces in parliament in order to be ready for a possible Russian invasion.

“We tried to convey our proposals by inviting Zelensky to parliament, offering to take part in a meeting with Zelensky at the President’s Office in order to use all the experience, all knowledge, all connections to keep the peace. Unfortunately, today the meeting that was scheduled for 16:00, was canceled by Zelensky. He instructed to disrupt it, and the head of the Verkhovna Rada (Ruslan Stefanchuk. – Ed.) behaved not as the head of the Ukrainian parliament, but as a servant – not of the people, but a servant of Zelensky,” Poroshenko said.

The fifth president of Ukraine noted that the authorities motivate the postponement of the meeting in the Rada by saying that they could not gather deputies.
