Ukraine is ready for any development of events against the background of the threat of invasion. Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, announced this on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.

“We are fully aware of what is happening on the territory of Ukraine. We do not see that a large-scale attack by the Russian Federation can happen on February 14-16, but our army is ready,” he said.

Danilov also turned to the media to carefully check the information they publish. According to him, the authorities remain open to comments.

In addition, he noted that such meetings as today are held regularly with the participation of the President of Ukraine and today the security forces answered all the questions of people’s deputies.

In turn, Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk said that there was no reason to panic, and there would be no invasion.

“There will be no offensive in those days that were called – this is a component of computer science. Counter-actions by law enforcement agencies were brought. We remain calm and united. And let’s be responsible for the information space of our country. After today’s communication, everyone became calmer,” he said.

What is known about the likely invasion

  • The American news agency Bloomberg named the likely date of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine February, 15. According to some US officials, the invasion could start with a “false flag” operation in the Donbas or an attack on Kiev.
  • Commander of the Joint Forces Operation Alexander Pavlyuk said that Russia could attack Ukraine on February 20. On this day, joint Russian-Belarusian exercises near the Ukrainian border come to an end.
  • Among various scenarios, this date is marked as a possible start of a Russian attack on Ukraine. The fact is that it is on this day that the Winter Olympic Games in China end, on whose support Russian President Vladimir Putin is counting, and he probably does not want to tarnish this event.
  • In addition, on February 15, the State Duma should consider two resolutions on the appeal of the chamber to the President of the Russian Federation and recognize the so-called “Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics.”
