(ANSA) – SASSARI, FEBRUARY 15 – Two convictions for criminal association and prescription for crimes of mistreatment. The second degree trial on the “Alzheimer case” of Ittiri (Sassari), in which 11 people were accused, including neurologists Giuseppe Dore and Marinella D’Onofrio and the regional councilor of UDC, closed today in the Court of Appeal in Sassari. – Let’s change, Antonello Peru.
The court chaired by Plinia Azzena, alongside Marina Capitta and Maria Grixoni, sentenced the two neurologists to 5 years for criminal association, partially reforming the first degree sentence and assigning sentences lower than those requested by the Attorney General Paolo De Falco. Accepting the request of the pg, the regional councilor Peru was acquitted of the accusation of participation in a criminal association, for not having committed the deed.
The court sentenced the defendants to pay the legal costs in favor of the civil parties, represented by the lawyers Danilo Mattana, Alberto Sechi Fabrizio Pintus.
According to the accusations, Dore, supported by a large list of doctors, health managers, nurses and even relatives of patients, in the clinic he directed in Ittiri was practicing psychoneuroanalysis, a therapy of his own invention against Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. .
